Three mines and more than 7,000 consumers lost power as a result of shelling of TPPs in Donetsk region

    SITUATION IN THE FRONTLINE REGIONS

Yesterday, a shelling damaged equipment at a thermal power plant in Donetsk region. Three coal mines and 7,500 consumers were left without power supply.

All of them have been reconnected.

In addition, the enemy launched a missile attack on another mine in Donetsk region. No people were injured, the equipment was damaged and the mine is currently out of operation.

Some consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions are also without electricity.

Repair crews are working where the security situation allows. In total, power engineers have reconnected 14,000 consumers over the past day. Most of them are customers in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

    POWER GENERATION

The electricity generated by Ukrainian power plants is sufficient to meet the needs of consumers.

Power engineers continue to prepare the power system for the heating season. A large-scale repair campaign is underway at thermal, hydro and nuclear generation facilities. In particular, a hydroelectric unit at a pumped storage power plant that was damaged during shelling last winter has been put under emergency repair due to an equipment malfunction.

    SITUATION IN THE REGIONS

Over 5,000 consumers in Dnipropetrovsk region, almost 20,000 in Kirovohrad region and 12,000 in Kharkiv region were temporarily without power last night as a result of technological disruptions. There were also disruptions in train traffic. All of them have now been reconnected.

Due to technical failures, 1,600 customers in Chernihiv region and more than 700 customers in Zaporizhzhia region are without electricity.

CONSEQUENCES OF THE KAKHOVKA HPP DAM BLOW-UP

In Kherson, 22 access points that were de-energised after the flooding were reconnected yesterday. 1,500 customers are still without power. Power engineers are working to restore the power supply, but repairs are slowed down by shelling.

    SITUATION AT THE ZNPP

There is a slight decrease in the water level in the cooling pond. It is currently at 15.69 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.

    EXPORT/IMPORT

Commercial electricity imports totalled 1,024 MWh over the past day. Exports to Slovakia and Moldova totalled 234.00 MWh.
