Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 13 March 2024 10:23

Due to shelling, consumers in Sumy and Kryvyi Rih are partially without heat and gas supply; there is no electricity shortage

    POWER GENERATION AND CONSUMPTION

Deteriorating weather conditions led to an increase in electricity consumption. Compared to the previous day, electricity consumption increased by more than 8%.

At the same time, the electricity generated by Ukrainian power plants is sufficient to meet the needs of consumers. Despite the emergency short-term repairs of two TPP units, there are 7 units of generating equipment at thermal power plants in reserve to be used if necessary. Commercial electricity imports and exports are planned.

The situation is under control. The system is balanced. No blackout schedules are applied.

    CONSEQUENCES OF SHELLING

In Kryvyi Rih, 430 gas consumers in high-rise buildings were disconnected from gas supply following a missile strike.

In Sumy, 16 apartment buildings are left without heating after a drone attack.

    CONSEQUENCES OF BAD WEATHER

In Khmelnytskyi region, more than 3,500 consumers in 14 settlements were cut off from electricity supply due to bad weather. In Kyiv region, 8 settlements were left without power due to severe weather conditions. Restoration works are ongoing.

    EMERGENCIES

A 53-year-old worker died at a coal mine in Donetsk region as a result of workplace injuries.

    NETWORK STATUS

A technological disruption occurred at a substation of NPC Ukrenergo in Odesa region, which resulted in a fire. As a result, the substation’s own needs were cut off. The fire was extinguished, and no consumers were de-energised. The substation and overhead lines have been restored.

    SITUATION AT ZNPP

The water level in the cooling pond is 15.53 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.

The 330 kV line supplying ZNPP remains de-energised.

    IMPORT/EXPORT

For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 3,112 MWh. Exports are also expected to reach 6,086 MWh.
