German Galushchenko says situation in the power system has improved due to Energoatom's efforts
The situation in the power system has improved significantly due to the fact that the state-owned company Energoatom has completed the scheduled repair of a power unit ahead of schedule and connected it to the grid.
This was announced by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko during a working visit to one of the NPPs.
‘Today, the whole of Ukraine really felt the launch of the unit. Until 4pm, there were no blackouts in Ukraine at all. In some regions, until 6 p.m. Tomorrow the situation will be even better,’ the Minister said.
The specialists of Energoatom, realising the complexity of the situation, could complete all the routine procedures 2 weeks ahead of schedule.
‘What power engineers are doing today is truly heroic. It's not just a matter of shortening the repair campaign. It is also necessary to reduce it in such a way that all nuclear and radiation safety requirements are met,' emphasised German Galushchenko.
According to him, an unprecedented repair campaign is underway across the country. The scope of work is significantly higher than last year.
Last week, during the Question Hour with the Government, Energy Minister German Galushchenko announced that the situation in the power system would improve in the near future.
