  • Situation in energy system on 4 February: no electricity shortage, 11 units of generating equipment in reserve
Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 04 February 2024 10:25

    Power generation and consumption

There is no electricity shortage in the system. A TPP unit and a block have come out of emergency repair, and 10 units and a thermal generation building are in reserve, which will be used if necessary.

The situation is under control. The power system is balanced.

    Consequences of shelling

In the evening, an artillery attack was recorded near the territory of the 330 kV substation in Kharkiv region. Hostilities are taking place in the area.

    State of the grid

After eliminating the consequences of large-scale shelling, two 150 kV overhead lines were disconnected for technical reasons in Dnipropetrovsk region. As a result, a power hub was left without power: several 330 kV substations of Ukrenergo lost power, a unit at a local thermal power plant had an emergency shutdown, household consumers and the railway lost power (there were temporary disruptions in train traffic). The line is now back in operation.

For technical reasons, the line and substations in Lviv were switched off, and household consumers lost power. All consumers were promptly supplied with power via the backup scheme.

    Import/export

For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 7,400 MWh, while exports are also expected at 690 MWh.
