  • Situation in energy system as of 29 January: no electricity shortage, four units of TPP generating equipment in reserve
Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 29 January 2024 10:02

Situation in the power system as of 29 January: no electricity shortage is registered, four units of TPP generating equipment are in reserve.

    Generation and consumption

There is no deficit in the Ukrainian power system. Electricity generated by Ukrainian power plants is sufficient to meet the needs of consumers.

A TPP building has been put out of service for emergency repairs, while three units and one thermal generation building are in reserve and will be used if necessary.

The system is balanced. No outage schedules are applied.

However, please note that it is crucial to reduce the load on the power system during peak consumption hours (from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 17:00 to 19:00). The Ministry of Energy urges consumers to consume electricity responsibly.

    Consequences of shelling

A mine in Donetsk region that was cut off from power after yesterday's shelling has been reconnected. 10 workers were brought to the surface.

    Situation at ZNPP

A slight decrease in the water level in the plant's cooling pond has been recorded - it is 15.60 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of ZNPP.

    Import/export

For the current day, electricity imports are forecast at 3,451 MWh. No exports are expected.
