Situation in energy system on 27 July

Enemy attacked power transmission system facilities in Chernihiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions; a mine was shelled in Donetsk region; outage schedules will be applied from 17:00 to 23:00

POWER GENERATION, TRANSMISSION, CONSUMPTION

Yesterday, Ukraine additionally attracted emergency assistance from Slovakia and Poland during evening peak hours. The Ukrainian power system also received surplus electricity from the Polish power system.

As of today, it is planned that the hourly blackout schedules will be applied only during peak consumption hours – from 17:00 to 23:00. Restrictions will be applied to the extent of one queue.

There will be no blackouts for critical infrastructure companies and companies that import more than 80% of electricity for their needs in accordance with a government decree.

A significant capacity deficit in the power system remains. As a result of massive hostile attacks on the energy sector, 9 GW of production capacity was lost. There is constant shelling, especially in the frontline and border areas. Substations and power transmission lines are often targeted. As a result of missile and drone strikes, there are restrictions on the transmission of available electricity.

CONSEQUENCES OF SHELLING

Over the past 24 hours, the enemy shelled energy facilities in Chernihiv region three times, which resulted in the de-energisation of substations and overhead lines and household consumers connected to them. A total of 2,946 consumers were cut off from power.

In Dnipropetrovsk region, a UAV attack damaged equipment at a substation in the region.

EMERGENCIES

A fire broke out in a mine in Donetsk region as a result of hostile shelling. There were 86 employees in the mine at the time of the accident. 84 people were brought to the surface, while 2 employees remained in the mine to ensure operations. The fire has been extinguished.

POWER OUTAGES TO CONSUMERS

Power was supplied to 8,359 consumers who were cut off from electricity as a result of the hostilities.

In total, 485 settlements remain without power supply due to hostilities and technical disruptions.

SITUATION AT ZNPP

The water level in the cooling pond is at 14.84 metres. This is enough to meet the plant’s needs.
