Electricity supply restrictions for consumers continue to be in force in Ukraine; almost 4,900 customers were left without gas due to shelling in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions
POWER GENERATION, TRANSMISSION, CONSUMPTION
Over the past day, the needs of consumers were covered by domestic generation, commercial imports and emergency assistance from the power systems of Romania, Slovakia and Poland. Schedules of hourly outages were also applied. They are still in effect today.
The reason for the restrictions is significant damage to the energy infrastructure following massive russian attacks. Restoration works are ongoing.
For technological reasons, one of the solar power plants in Dnipropetrovsk region briefly stopped generating electricity. The plant has resumed electricity production.
Today, at Ukraine’s request, Romania and Poland have already provided emergency electricity supplies at night and in the morning. Emergency assistance can also be provided during the day.
STATE OF THE GRID
Yesterday, the 750 kV Dniprovska overhead line, which is the main power supply line to the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP, was disconnected for technical reasons. The plant remained powered by the backup 330 kV line Zaporizhzhia TPP-Ferosplavna. Within three hours, Ukrainian power engineers put the line back online.
In Kharkiv region, a fire at a high-voltage substation caused a power outage in the local industry. The fire was extinguished by the substation staff.
Also in Kharkiv region, a power company substation was shut down for technological reasons. As a result, household consumers lost power. Everyone has been supplied with power.
CONSEQUENCES OF THE SHELLING
As a result of damage to gas networks, gas supply was interrupted to 4,344 customers in Kharkiv region and 528 customers in Donetsk region. Repairs are ongoing.
CONSEQUENCES OF BAD WEATHER
About 3,100 customers in 19 settlements in Sumy region were cut off from electricity supply due to bad weather.
SITUATION AT ZNPP
The water level in the cooling pond has slightly decreased to 15.29 metres. This is sufficient to meet the plant’s needs.
IMPORT/EXPORT
For the current day, electricity imports are forecast at 15,315 MWh. No exports are expected.
