Situation in the power system as of 23 April: consumers' needs are covered by domestic generation, commercial imports and emergency assistance from neighbouring countries; restrictions are in place in Kharkiv and Kryvyi Rih.
GENERATION, TRANSMISSION, CONSUMPTION
Due to network restrictions on the transmission system operator's lines, outage schedules were applied in Kharkiv region yesterday. Restrictions in this region and in Kryvyi Rih (for industry) are still in effect today.
Over the past day, Ukrainian consumers' needs were covered by the domestic generation, commercial imports and emergency supplies from Poland, Slovakia and Romania. The total volume of emergency supplies was less than three per cent of daily electricity consumption.
At the request of the Ukrainian transmission system operator, we also supply electricity from these countries on a day-to-day basis.
It is worth reminding that emergency assistance from neighbouring countries is a standard tool for synchronised power systems to interact in case of an emergency need for electricity. Ukraine, like our partners, also provides emergency assistance when necessary and possible.
CONSUME RESPONSIBLY!
Given the significant damage caused to the power grid by hostile attacks, we ask consumers to reduce the use of energy-intensive appliances during peak hours (from 19:00 to 22:00). Industry - to review production processes to reduce the load on the power system, as well as to maximise imports from neighbouring countries to ensure that outages are avoided and the power system is more resilient.
STATE OF THE GRID
In Kharkiv region, a high-voltage overhead line was disconnected twice for technological reasons. It was brought back into operation within a few hours. The reasons for the outage are being investigated.
In Kherson region, strong winds caused a short-term outage at a high-voltage substation, which resulted in a power outage for household consumers.
SITUATION AT ZNPP
The water level in the cooling pond is 15.43 metres. This is sufficient to meet the plant's needs.
IMPORT/EXPORT
For the current day, electricity imports are forecast at 9298 MWh. No exports are planned.
