Due to bad weather, 245 settlements were cut off from electricity supply; 50 workers were trapped underground at a mine in Donetsk region due to shelling

    POWER GENERATION, TRANSMISSION, CONSUMPTION

Due to massive russian shelling, the power system is experiencing a capacity shortage. Yesterday, to partially cover the power shortage, Ukraine additionally attracted emergency assistance from the power systems of Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.

Today, the hourly power outage schedules apply from 0:00 to 24:00. If the situation changes, the information will be updated.

The main reason for the restrictions is enemy attacks on energy infrastructure and the negative consequences of these attacks.

    CONSEQUENCES OF SHELLING

In Donetsk region, an overhead power line was disconnected during the hostilities. As a result, the substation and the household consumers connected to it, as well as a mine, lost power. There were 50 workers underground and they were brought to the surface.

At night, the enemy conducted a massive shelling of Kherson. The buildings of the regional power company were damaged and a fire broke out, which the State Emergency Service was called to extinguish. One of the power generating enterprises also lost power. As a result, 6,844 customers in the regional centre were left without electricity. In the region, 3,554 consumers in 7 settlements were de-energised.

    STATE OF THE GRID

In the western region, a high-voltage overhead line connecting Ukraine with Hungary was out of service due to a technological failure. The line is back online, and the cause of the outage is being investigated.

In Chernivtsi region, an overhead line was disconnected for technological reasons. As a result, household consumers lost power. All consumers have been supplied with power.

In Sumy and Kharkiv regions, an overhead line was disconnected, which resulted in a power outage at substations and the household and industrial consumers connected to them. All consumers have been reconnected.

In Poltava and Kharkiv regions, a power line outage cut power to regional power company substations, as well as to household and industrial consumers, administrative buildings and medical facilities in one of the localities. All consumers have been supplied with electricity.

In Khmelnytskyi region, an overhead power line of a regional power company was disconnected for technological reasons. As a result, substations and 16,800 household consumers lost power. All of them have been supplied with power.

    CONSEQUENCES OF THE BAD WEATHER

As of 9:00 a.m., 245 settlements were without power as a result of thunderstorms. Most of them – 101 – are in Khmelnytskyi region. Also, customers in Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Zhytomyr regions lost power due to the weather.

In Zakarpattia, an overhead power line was also disconnected due to bad weather. As a result, substations, household consumers, and the railway were cut off from power, causing disruptions to train traffic. All consumers have been supplied with electricity.

    SITUATION AT ZNPP

The water level in the cooling pond is 15.06 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.

    IMPORT/EXPORT

For the current day, electricity imports are forecast at 30,796 MWh. No exports are expected.
