No electricity shortage; coal miners blocked by shelling and blackout in Kryvyi Rih brought to surface
Power generation and consumption
There is no deficit in the Ukrainian power system.
A TPP unit and block have been put under short-term repair. In total, two units and three blocks of thermal power plants are in reserve, which will be used if necessary. The system is balanced.
Consequences of the shelling
As a result of a UAV attack on Ukrenergo’s substations in Dnipropetrovsk region, overhead lines were disconnected. There was a fire and consequent damage to equipment at the substations, as well as large-scale blackouts, including in mines. As of 9:00 am, all miners were brought to the surface. The damage is being assessed and work is underway to restore power supply using backup schemes.
A fire broke out at a gas facility in Kharkiv region due to enemy drone attacks. There were no casualties. The consequences are being investigated.
State of the grid
A 35 kV overhead line in Chernivtsi region was disconnected for technical reasons, resulting in a power outage at the substation supplying household consumers. All customers have been reconnected.
Situation at the ZNPP
The water level in the cooling pond is 15.60 metres. This is sufficient to meet the plant’s needs.
For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 2,475 MWh. No exports are planned.
