No power shortage, almost 9,500 consumers lost power in Kharkiv region due to shelling, one power company employee killed
Power generation and consumption
There is no deficit in the power system. Domestic generation is sufficient to meet consumer needs, and commercial imports and exports of electricity are planned.
One TPP unit underwent short-term repairs and was restored to service after the problems were resolved. There are 10 TPP units in reserve, which will be brought into operation if necessary.
The situation is under control. The system is balanced. No outage schedules are in place.
Consequences of shelling
The shelling in Kharkiv region damaged the building of the district power facility in Kupyansk district. A 110kV overhead line and a substation were also de-energised. As a result, 34 settlements (more than 9,500 consumers) were left without electricity.
The damage is currently being assessed. Work to repair the lines and restore power will begin as soon as the security situation allows. An employee of the Kupyansk power distribution company was also killed in the shelling – he was at home at the time of the attack.
State of the grid
In Sumy region, a 110 kV overhead line was disconnected due to a technical fault, a substation was de-energised and household consumers were left without power, although they were promptly reconnected via a backup line.
Situation at the ZNPP
The water level in the cooling pond remains stable at 15.59 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.
Import/export
For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 1,997 MWh. It is also planned to export up to 4,026 MWh to Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Moldova.
