High-voltage power line in Sumy region disconnected due to shelling; no electricity shortage expected

POWER GENERATION

Yesterday, one of the nuclear units at Khmelnytskyi NPP was shut down for technical reasons. The circumstances are currently being investigated and work is underway to eliminate the disruption. There are 7 nuclear power units in operation.

To meet the needs of consumers and industry, reserves of thermal and hydroelectric generation are used.

Commercial electricity imports and exports are also planned.

The situation is under control. The system is balanced. No blackout schedules are applied.

CONSEQUENCES OF SHELLING

As a result of enemy shelling in Sumy region, a 330 kV high-voltage line of NPC Ukrenergo was disconnected due to a wire break. The equipment of a boiler house in one of the towns in Sumy region was also damaged, and the boiler house was disconnected from the gas supply.

STATE OF THE GRID

Equipment at a 110 kV substation in Chernivtsi region was disconnected for technical reasons, which resulted in a power outage for household consumers. The power supply was restored within two hours.

SITUATION AT ZNPP

The water level in the cooling pond is 15.53 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.

The 330 kV line supplying ZNPP remains de-energised.

IMPORT/EXPORT

For the current day, electricity imports are forecast at 4,066 MWh. Exports are also expected up to 5,837 MWh.
