CONSEQUENCES OF BAD WEATHER
Over the past day, power transmission lines were damaged due to a thunderstorm, which left some consumers without electricity in Sumy, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions. In Dnipropetrovsk region, 32,000 consumers were temporarily without power due to the storm.
Currently, 4 settlements in Chernihiv region and 12 settlements in Sumy region are without power. Restoration works are ongoing.
POWER GENERATION
As part of the ongoing repair campaign, scheduled repairs and a number of emergency and routine repairs at thermal generation units have been completed. Electricity generated by Ukrainian power plants is fully sufficient to meet the needs of consumers. There is no shortage.
EMERGENCY SITUATION
During the rescue operations at the thermal power plant in Donetsk region, where the accident occurred on 7 July, the bodies of two workers who had previously been reported missing were found under the rubble. This brings the total number of people killed in the tragedy to three.
SITUATION IN THE FRONTLINE REGIONS
Hostile terror continues in the frontline and border regions with russia. As a result of the shelling, 12 settlements in Donetsk region were cut off from electricity. Some customers in Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions are still without power.
Repair teams are working where the security situation allows.
CONSEQUENCES OF THE KAKHOVKA HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANT DAM BLOW-UP
Efforts are underway to assess and eliminate the consequences of the flood caused by the dam blast. In Kherson, 143 consumers who were disconnected after the flooding have been reconnected. Another 12,900 customers are still without power.
Power engineers are working to restore power supply.
SITUATION AT THE ZNPP
A slight decrease in the water level in the cooling pond has been recorded. It is currently 16.50 metres. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant.
