On the sidelines of the G7 Energy Ministers’ Meeting in Toronto, Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk held a meeting with top executives from leading energy and construction companies, energy equipment manufacturers, Canadian market operators, as well as representatives of specialised associations and financial institutions.

The discussion centred on the urgent needs of Ukraine’s energy sector amid the war and the mechanisms through which Canadian companies can contribute to assistance. Svitlana Grynchuk emphasised Ukraine’s openness to new formats of cooperation, particularly in attracting investment and developing innovative technologies in the energy sector.

Particular attention was paid to potential opportunities for implementing joint long-term projects. The parties agreed to continue the dialogue during the ReBuild Ukraine conference, which 25 Canadian companies plan to attend.

The Minister noted that Ukraine already has positive experience of cooperation with Canadian business in the fields of hydropower, the gas sector, the introduction of new nuclear technologies, and the modernisation of infrastructure using Canadian solutions and equipment. Ukraine is open to any initiatives that make the energy system stronger.

Svitlana Grynchuk expressed gratitude to the Canadian partners for the substantive dialogue and their high level of interest in further cooperation.
