On January 31, 2023, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine handed over 3 tonnes of energy equipment received from international partners to JSC Sumygas and JSC Sumyoblenergo.
“Since the beginning of war, Sumy region has been subject to attacks on energy infrastructure. Power engineers are working 24/7, but the newly repaired facilities are being shelled by the enemy over and over again. That’s why we need to allocate additional resources to speed up the restoration,” said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
The humanitarian aid for Sumy region includes generators, power transformers, and other equipment needed for repair works.
“We are grateful to Belgium, France, Lithuania, Ireland, Azerbaijan, and Hungary for the equipment that will help stabilize the situation with energy supply in the frontier region,” the Minister added.
