    Today, on November 27, the Government has decided to allot UAH 1.9 billion to the educational sector as part of a comprehensive state program to improve the quality of education in schools. A particular focus on innovative equipment, serving the needs of rural schools and children with special needs.

    Hence, children in rural areas will be able to comfortably get to schools and have meals in comfortable conditions. For these purposes, about 430 new school buses will be purchased and canteens will be repaired – the funding worth UAH 400 million will be provided.

    “Today, we have directed almost UAH 801.6 million to modern equipment and technologies. In 2020, our students who are interested in natural sciences, technology and technical creativity will receive new equipment for classrooms and STEM laboratories,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk commented, adding that the Government had provided for the purchase of equipment for special schools and rehabilitation centers in which are educated children with special needs. The sum worth UAH 55.3 million will be allocated for this purpose.

    As we have informed on October 28, the Government also approved a document that would allow Ukraine to accede to the Safe Schools Declaration. This will allow increasing the safety of students in schools, particularly in the areas bordering on the territory of the joint forces operation (JFO).
