In pursuance of the President's commission, a State Commission chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Oleh Uruskyy was set up to ensure the prompt investigation of the circumstances of the plane crash in Kharkiv region and provide the necessary assistance to the victims. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced.
"The tragic news. An An-26 plane of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has crashed in Kharkiv region. The fire was extinguished. In addition to the crew, there were cadets of the Kharkiv National Air Force University on board. Information on the dead and injured is being clarified. All services are working on the scene. On behalf of the President, a State Commission chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Oleh Uruskyy has been set up to clarify the circumstances of the tragedy and provide all necessary assistance to the victims. The Commission will include the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak, Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, Minister of Defense Andrii Taran, Head of the State Emergency Service Mykola Chechotkin, Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleksii Kucher and other officials," the Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal expressed condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
