The IV International Food from Ukraine Conference and AGROEXPO 2025 Exhibition kick off

On November 19, Kyiv is hosting the annual IV International Conference on Food Security “Food from Ukraine” – a key international platform dedicated to strengthening global food security and developing strategic partnerships between Ukraine and other countries.

Among those attending the opening of the conference were Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka, Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Oleksii Sobolev, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the auspices of the humanitarian initiative of the President of Ukraine "Grain from Ukraine." In 2025, this initiative was expanded under the name Food from Ukraine, reflecting the scale, innovation, and high technological potential of the Ukrainian agricultural sector.

"Food from Ukraine is more than a presentation of Ukrainian opportunities. It is a new approach to global food solidarity. Ukraine remains a reliable partner in the global market and a guarantor of food security, even despite the war. We not only export grain and finished products, but also create technologies, invest in processing, and develop partnerships, particularly with African countries," emphasized Oleksii Sobolev, Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine.

The conference brought together world leaders, ministers, representatives of international organizations, and leading experts. In particular, representatives of official delegations, businesses, and international organizations from the EU, G7, and a significant number of African countries. Participants included:

over 100 official and business delegations, including from African countries;

foreign and Ukrainian business associations;

leading manufacturers of agricultural machinery, equipment, and food products;

representatives of Ukrainian government agencies.

During the 2025 conference, Ukraine's Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksii Sobolev presented Ukraine's vision for developing food security, strengthening logistics routes, and expanding partnerships, particularly with African countries.

“Today, we are taking the next step—we launch the development of a network of regional food hubs, the first of which we plan to build in Ghana. This will allow us to combine Ukrainian technologies with local capabilities and strengthen the sustainability of food systems around the world,” said Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine Denys Bashlyk.

As part of the Food from Ukraine 2025 conference, the Minister and summit guests visited the AGROEXPO 2025 exhibition,

which brings together more than 50 stands of manufacturers of agricultural machinery, equipment, and technologies, as well as more than 50 Ukrainian processing enterprises, from large companies to Craft producers.

In addition, panel discussions, presentations of investment projects, and discussions of new trade opportunities are planned, as well as bilateral meetings on direct cooperation between Ukrainian agribusiness and international partners.

The Food from Ukraine 2025 conference continues the tradition of annual meetings held in Kyiv at the end of November.

The First Summit in 2022 launched Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's humanitarian initiative “Grain from Ukraine,” aimed at supporting countries suffering from famine.

The Second Summit in 2023 was dedicated to unblocking food supply routes and ensuring the uninterrupted export of Ukrainian grain.

The Third, in 2024, focused on developing sustainable food systems and strengthening the health of future generations, in particular through school meal reform, the experience and material resources that Ukraine is willing to share with its partners.

The Fourth International Summit “Food from Ukraine 2025” is a powerful tool for promoting Ukrainian agricultural products, demonstrating technological potential, and expanding partnerships. The event strengthens Ukraine's role as a reliable partner in the global food supply chain.

The IV International Summit “Food from Ukraine 2025” is a potent platform for promoting Ukrainian agricultural products, demonstrating technological potential, and expanding partnerships. The event reinforces Ukraine’s role as one of the world’s guarantors of food security, opens new markets, and creates opportunities to attract investment even in wartime.

Main partners of the event: United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Swiss Confederation, Made in Ukraine programme, Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, MHP, Kernel, Ukrvinprom, RIDNE Consortium, Ukragromash, Agriacademy.

Background information

“Food from Ukraine” is a new phase of the “Grain from Ukraine” initiative launched by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in 2022 with the aim of strengthening Ukraine's role in combating the global food crisis. Its main idea is to supply Ukrainian grain to countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and other regions on the brink of famine.

Since 2022, more than 320,000 tonnes of agricultural products (wheat and flour, corn, peas, oil) have been shipped to 18 countries in Africa and Asia as part of the initiative: Bangladesh, Djibouti, Congo, Yemen, Ethiopia, Zambia, Kenya, Mauritania, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, and Chad. As a result of three Grain from Ukraine summits, more than USD 370 million in donor funds were raised.
