Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, posted 10 March 2023 11:55

On March 9, the U.S. Department of the Treasury imposed sanctions on five Chinese companies and one individual who supplied Iran with components used in the manufacture of drones. This is reported on the agency’s website.

These companies are said to be responsible for the sale and shipment of thousands of aerospace components, including parts for UAVs, to the Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA). HESA has been involved in the production of the Shahed-136 UAV model that Iran has used to attack oil tankers and has exported to russia. This decision was made with information provided by the Ukrainian side regarding the components of these drones.

According to Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian E. Nelson, Iran is directly involved in causing civilian casualties in Ukraine as a result of russia’s use of Iranian UAVs in its illegal war in Ukraine.

The sanctions were imposed on Hangzhou Fuyang Koto Machinery Co., Ltd (Koto Machinery), Raven International Trade Limited (Raven), Guilin Alpha Rubber & Plastics Technology Co., Ltd (Guilin Alpha), S&C Trade PTY Co., Ltd (S&C Trade), and Shenzhen Caspro Technology Co., Ltd (Caspro).

All property of these companies that is in the United States or in the possession or control of U.S. persons must be blocked. In addition, any entities that are owned, directly or indirectly, 50 percent or more by one or more blocked persons are also blocked. All transactions by U.S. persons or within the United States (including transactions transiting the United States) that involve any property or interests in property of blocked or designated persons are prohibited.

Constant communication between Ukraine and its partners in the democratic world contributes to strengthening the sanctions pressure on the terrorist state, its allies, and third parties that provide opportunities for continued aggression.
