The Swiss Confederation has announced a second call for proposals for projects to rebuild Ukraine with the participation of the private sector

On January 9, 2026, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) of the Swiss Confederation announced a second Call for proposals for initiatives to rebuild Ukraine in cooperation with the Swiss private sector.

The competition provides for up to CHF 150 million in co-financing.

Swiss companies operating in Ukraine are invited to participate with proposals for projects that are a priority in view of the country's needs. The key focus of the call is on strengthening public infrastructure.

The amount of grant funding for a single project can range from CHF 3 to 30 million. Decisions on project support are made on the basis of the evaluation of submitted applications by a joint committee comprising representatives of the Swiss Confederation and Ukrainian authorities.

In the first stage, project proposals are evaluated according to predefined criteria. Companies that pass the preliminary selection receive an invitation to submit fully developed project applications. Additional interviews are conducted to clarify specific aspects and open questions.

The second call for proposals is open until March 8, 2026.

Detailed information is available on the official website:

Following the selection process, the Swiss Confederation supported the 12 best projects with a total of CHF 93 million. Funding was awarded to initiatives in the following areas:

• infrastructure (energy and housing),

• public transport,

• health care,

• humanitarian demining.
