Sergii Koretskyi: Government identifies specific steps to improve public administration

Ukraine's state authorities must work faster and more efficiently under wartime conditions. The Government has identified specific steps to improve the public administration system. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi.

"We will conduct a comprehensive review of the public administration system to identify duplicated functions, unnecessary processes, and opportunities for optimization. Digitalization is a separate priority — we'll look at digital governance and ways to automate internal processes within central executive bodies. The state shouldn't be spending time and resources on processes that digital tools can make faster and simpler," the Prime Minister said.

According to Sergii Koretskyi, a decision has been made to review staffing levels at central executive bodies.

"We will cut unnecessary vacant positions and review the number of deputy ministers and deputy heads of central executive bodies. After a detailed analysis, we'll determine the actual staffing needs based on the real scope of government responsibilities," Sergii Koretskyi said.

Another key focus is education and professional development in public administration. Training approaches for civil servants will be updated to reflect the state's current needs.

"Responsibility for implementing these measures lies with the relevant ministries and central executive bodies. Their heads have already been instructed accordingly. Coordination and oversight will be handled by Kostiantyn Marievych, State Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers," the Prime Minister said.
