Sergii Koretskyi held an emergency meeting on strengthening security measures at fuel stations

Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi convened an emergency meeting to tackle strengthening security measures at fuel stations with market operators and representatives of the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, Ministry for Communities, Territories and Displaced Persons, National Security and Defense Council, State Emergency Service, and Ministry of Internal Affairs.

 “The enemy has significantly intensified strikes on petrol stations. In recent days, attacks have targeted facilities in the capital and along international highways. Our top priority is to maximize protection for staff and visitors and to ensure the consistent and safe distribution of petroleum products at fuel stations,” emphasized the Head of Government.

The meeting once again addressed the strengthening of security measures at fuel stations, progress in installing additional protective structures for ground infrastructure elements, and the arrangement of shelters for people.

 “We are already testing a software solution to enable us to track the direction of drone movement and respond to threats in advance. This involves automatic and rapid alerts at fuel stations about approaching enemy drones,” noted Sergii Koretskyi. “We will pilot this at fuel stations while simultaneously connecting other businesses. Ministers have been tasked with accelerating this process to the maximum extent possible.”

The participants also analyzed the balance of petroleum products, logistics, and the price situation. Due to situation in the Middle East and disruptions in supply chains, global oil quotations are once again rising sharply. Ukraine is naturally experiencing a corresponding reaction from market players.

 “We have outlined a clear action plan for railway connections and for simplifying customs procedures for fuel trucks, as was the case in 2022. We are responding to business requests — the response must be swift and effective,” stressed the Prime Minister.

Sergii Koretskyi underlined that during times of crisis, coordination with business would be conducted on a regular basis, and expressed gratitude to all for their resilience.
