Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi held a phone call with Prime Minister of Romania Luca Niculescu.

"We discussed the Russian strike on a civilian vessel off the coast of Romania, which killed one Ukrainian seafarer, injured four, and left three more missing; six were rescued," the Head of Government said. "I thanked Romania for its principled stance and clear condemnation of this crime, a gross violation of international law and freedom of navigation."

The participants held substantive talks on defense, energy and logistics. "We aim to speed up projects that will expand rail capacity, develop delivery along river routes and increase cargo throughput," Sergii Koretskyi noted.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine proposed to his Romanian counterpart that the two governments introduce intergovernmental consultations as a format of engagement. This format has proven effective with other countries.

"I thanked Romania for its consistent support since the first days of the full-scale invasion, and invited Mr. Niculescu to Kyiv. This was our first conversation since his appointment, so I also took the opportunity to congratulate him on his new post," Sergii Koretskyi concluded.
