Sergii Koretskyi and Prime Minister of Latvia discuss strengthening defense and further support for Ukraine

Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi met in Kyiv with Prime Minister of Latvia Andris Kulbergs and his government team.

 The Head of the Ukrainian Government thanked Latvia for its principled and consistent support of Ukraine, as well as for its participation in the Shelter Coalition: “This is an important initiative to protect people from russian missile and drone attacks.”

Sergii Koretskyi also expressed gratitude for Latvia’s energy assistance and support for reconstruction projects in Chernihiv region. The parties discussed the restoration of railway infrastructure under russian attack and the possibile war‑risk insurance.

The Prime Minister informed about russia’s terror in the Black Sea aimed at blocking grain exports: “We agreed very clearly on how we will jointly counter this.”

They also addressed accelerating Ukraine’s EU accession negotiations, strengthening sanctions pressure on russia, and focusing on the implementation of the drone agreement.

“We value Latvia’s reliable partnership and friendship. Together we continue efforts to reinforce Ukraine’s defense and European security,” emphasized the Prime Minister.
