Average wage in December amounted to UAH 10,573, which exceeds 2.8 times the minimum wage. According to the data provided by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the growth of real wages from December to November amounted to 14.5%. the growth per year - 9.7%.
Average wages in industrial sector amounted to UAH 11,563. Workers of transport, IT sector received salaries significantly higher than above-average pay (UAH 15,518 UAH). Workers of scientific and technical enterprises received UAH 15,490, employees of insurance companies over UAH 18,000. In the regional plane, the highest growth was recorded in Kyiv - UAH 16,500.
The achieved average wage index is fully in line with the Government’s calculations and forecasts. The Head of Government stressed that average salary to the tune of UAH 10,000 is a benchmark that will be achieved by the end of the year. He also noted that in 2019, the average salary is expected to be about UAH 10,500, however that this figure can be higher if the economy grows. "We forecast the average salary to the tune of UAH 10,500 , but I am convinced that this figure will be higher," Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stressed.
This tendency was confirmed by representatives of business circles. Thus, 83% of companies - members of the American Chamber of Commerce expect increase in creation of new jobs and salaries in 2019 Representatives of the European Business Association forecast an average growth to the tune of 10-15%.
