Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Strilets discussed building a climate architecture in Ukraine with German Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jaeger and representatives of GIZ.

Germany is one of our most powerful partners on the path to a new climate policy. GIZ's financial and methodological support in this process is enormous. We have concrete achievements. In 2022-23, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine began the process of adapting European international environmental legislation.

"Now we have the best results in the last 5 years. I was glad to hear positive feedback from our partners about our work despite the war. Mr. Martin Jaeger says Ukraine today has a different approach to organizing processes than the classic project-oriented one. We are creating a space for partnership. And this means concrete steps and actions. He assured us that Germany was ready to continue to support Ukraine on this path," noted Ruslan Strilets.

The Minister also hopes that by the end of the year there will be a full-fledged structure to prevent industrial pollution and implement a new climate policy in Ukraine that will meet European standards.

"This issue is much broader than overcoming the consequences of the war for the environment. We are now determining the vector of our development for decades to come. We will soon start a new stage of this process. Details will follow later," emphasized Ruslan Strilets.
