Development of violence victim assistance network: 94 communities received vehicles for the work of mobile brigades

At the expense of a subvention from the state budget to local budgets, 94 communities purchased vehicles to support the work of mobile brigades providing assistance to victims of domestic violence. So far, the selected communities have purchased cars: 89 vehicles have already been registered and are working for the purpose, and 5 more are undergoing the registration procedure.

All cars, in accordance with the requirements of the subvention distribution, are equipped for the needs of people with disabilities and low-mobility citizens.

In some regions, there are examples of successful operation of the updated fleet. For example, it is Mykolayiv region, where twelve communities have improved barrier-free access to social services with state support.

In addition, four more communities used the subvention funds to repair and reconstruct specialized violence victims services' offices. Currently, two facilities are almost 95% ready, and two more - a specialized service for primary social and psychological counseling in Kyiv and a day center in the Kelmenets community in Chernivtsi region - have been completely renovated.

In 2024, local budgets received a subvention to create a network of specialized services that provide services and psychosocial support to victims of domestic or gender-based violence. The amount is UAH 200 million. The subvention was used to complete the repair of specialized support services for victims of domestic violence and to purchase vehicles for mobile brigades to combat domestic violence.

It is also critical that the subvention allocation procedure is based on the principles of the National Strategy for Creating Barrier-Free Environment in Ukraine, initiated by First Lady Olena Zelenska.
