The Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko held a telephone conversation with the Secretary of State at the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy of Great Britain Kwazi Kwarteng.

The parties discussed the need for the fastest possible de-occupation of the Zaporizhia NPP and the organization of a joint mission of the IAEA and the UN to the plant.

"We highly appreciate the support of British partners during the UN Security Council meeting regarding the situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. The Ministry of Energy considers it necessary to send a joint mission of the IAEA and the UN to the plant," German Galushchenko said, stressing that the ZNPP is a Ukrainian nuclear power plant that should work within the energy system of Ukraine.

During the conversation, the interlocutors also tackled the state of preparation of the energy sector for the heating season and possible assistance from Great Britain to Ukraine in accumulating gas reserves for a stable passage of the next winter.
