Under the chairmanship of Energy Minister German Galushchenko, a large-scale exercise of emergency services to deal with the consequences of a possible terrorist attack at the occupied ZNPP has been launched.

The exercise involves relevant central, regional and local emergency services.

In particular, the exercise is attended by Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, Head of the State Emergency Service Serhii Kruk, President of NNEGC Energoatom Petro Kotin, Head of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate Oleh Korikov, Head of the Military and Civil Administration of Dnipropetrovsk Region Serhii Lysak, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration Yurii Malashko, Deputy Minister of Health and Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Ihor Kuzin, as well as representatives of Mykolaiv and Kherson regional military administrations.

Energoatom experts have developed several scenarios of possible developments at the ZNPP to be tested during the exercise.

“The main task of the exercise is to work out protocols of joint actions of all relevant services for prompt response and mitigation of consequences in case of a possible terrorist attack at the ZNPP,” said Minister of Energy German Galushchenko.

The results of the large-scale exercise will be summarised tomorrow.

As a reminder, the decision to conduct the multi-agency exercise was taken the day before at a meeting of the crisis headquarters.
