Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 23 March 2022 16:10

Over the past 24 hours, power supply to more than 47,500 customers has been restored. In particular, in Donetsk region – 27,000, in Kyiv – 8,400, in Zaporizhia – 6,000, in Kharkiv – 4,000, in Mykolaiv - about 2,000, in Sumy – 110 customers. The reliability of the Kyiv power unit has been intensified.

Gas supply to about 3,000 consumers has been restored.

Ukrainian energy companies exert every effort to quickly return electricity and heat to Ukrainian citizens.

However, in some areas, emergency recovery work is complicated or disabled due to the intensification of hostilities and the emergence of new damage.

As of March 23, more than 1,320 settlements in Ukraine remained without electricity, with a total of more than 874,000 consumers.

290,000 consumers remain without gas supply.

    Electricity

The Ukrainian energy system has been operating with the European power system for more than a week. The frequency in the network is maintained at 50 Hz. The level of electricity consumption is stable.

All types of power plants operate in the network. Electricity is produced enough to meet the needs of the population, the military, hospitals, utilities and other consumers.

    Nuclear generation

All four operating nuclear power plants in Ukraine continue to generate electricity stably. Their total current capacity provides the necessary amounts of electricity for the needs of the country.

Radiation, fire and environmental conditions at the industrial sites of nuclear power plants and adjacent territories have not changed and are within current standards.

All 6 power units of Zaporizhzhia NPP are serviced by Ukrainian personnel, workers have an opportunity to rotate shifts. Formally, the occupiers do not interfere in the work of nuclear power plants, but staff is forced to agree all technical solutions with the chiefs of the invaders.

    Gas transit system

OGTSU (Operator of the Gas Transport System of Ukraine) retains full operational and technological control over the work of the Ukrainian GTS.

The company continues to rebuild infrastructure damaged as a result of hostilities. During the previous day, fire activities were carried out on the main gas pipeline Luhansk-Lysychansk-Rubizhne, and restoration works are underway to eliminate damage to other GTS facilities.

The total number of gas distribution stations stopped in Ukraine due to enemy shelling remains unchanged - 40 GDS.

    Hydroelectricity

All HPPs and HPSPs, which are part of Ukrhydroenergo, operate according to the dispatcher schedule, regulating the frequency and capacity, covering peak loads and providing a mobile emergency reserve to the United Energy System of Ukraine.
