Starting from 18 March, individual entrepreneurs and self-employed people with disabilities will be eligible to receive compensation from the state for the arrangement of their workplaces.
‘We have expanded access to the programme and now people with disabilities who are self-employed or sole proprietors, or people planning to start a business, will have access to compensation for equipping their workplace with special furniture, devices, and purchasing auxiliary equipment, such as a lift or ramp. We hope that the programme will help even more people to set up an inclusive workspace. Since its launch, the programme has already supported more than 1,500 employers," said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy.
In addition, from now on, employers will have an opportunity to receive compensation for the arrangement of a workplace for a veteran with a disability who has returned to work. Previously, compensation was provided only for new employment. If a veteran with an injury returned to his or her workplace, the employer was not paid compensation, as this was not considered a new employment.
Under the terms of the programme, the amount of compensation for workplace arrangement for people with disabilities is as follows:
One can submit an application for compensation for workplace arrangement online on the Diia portal or offline by contacting the employment centre at the place of economic activity.
As a reminder, the Government introduced a programme to compensate employers for the costs of equipping workplaces for people with disabilities in August 2023.
Since the beginning of 2025, employers have received UAH 34 million in compensation under the programme for the equipping of 448 workplaces for people with disabilities. In 2024, more than 1,500 entrepreneurs took advantage of the programme and created almost 2,000 jobs for people with disabilities. The state reimbursed businesses for UAH 129 million.
The programme to compensate employers for the costs of creating jobs for people with disabilities is part of the flagship project of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine Work without Barriers, which is being implemented to comply with the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Environment in Ukraine.
