On March 5, 2020, a meeting on the implementation of joint projects with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) took place at the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine under the chairmanship of the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine. The event was attended by EBRD Deputy Chairman in Ukraine Mark Magaletsky, EIB investment officer Henry Möykkynen, as well as representatives of Ukravtodor, JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, JSC “Ukrposhta”, SE IA “Boryspil”, SE “Ukrvodshlyakh”, SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” and representatives of cities participating in the Ukraine Urban Public Transport Project.

The Minister of Infrastructure thanked the EIB and the EBRD for their support in the development and modernization of Ukraine's transport infrastructure and noted that it is a huge job and a great help to Ukraine: “The EBRD and the EIB are Ukraine's strategic partners in upgrading of the national transport system and realizing its transit potential. The successful development of infrastructure contributes to the growth of the economy and the well-being of the people. Implementation of joint projects with the EBRD and the EIB should, therefore, be accelerated. For this purpose it is critical to develop plans for further steps on the implementation of projects with defining of measures (including in the context of Ukrainian cities), terms of their implementation, and indicators by which their effectiveness could be determined,” stated Vladyslav Kryklii.

The Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Infrastructure will continue to actively support the implementation of projects of international financial organizations, promptly solve problems and coordinate the execution of projects in cooperation with other executive authorities.

EBRD Deputy Chairman in Ukraine Mark Magaletsky and EIB investment officer Henry Möykkynen assured that the EBRD and the EIB will promote the implementation of projects in every possible way and provide support in resolving issues arising during their implementation.

The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine informed that at present there is an experience of successful implementation of the project "Construction of the Beskid Tunnel", such projects as "Electrification of the railway direction Dolynska - Mykolaiv - Kolosivka", "Modernization of railway infrastructure", "Purchase of the rolling stock", "Urban public transport of Ukraine" are at the stage of implementation. There has been launched the project "Improving the urban road safety in Ukraine", as well as initiated financing of perspective projects in the field of road management, provision of postal services, development of port facilities and river infrastructure, airport infrastructure.
