Address by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at the Cabinet of Ministers' session
Distinguished colleagues, fellow Ukrainians.
In these days, weeks, months and throughout the full-scale war, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the diplomatic team of Ukraine are working tirelessly to ensure a sustainable, lasting and just peace.
In the face of these challenging times, it is more important than ever for us to remain united and strengthen our State. Reinforce Ukraine's Defence Forces, implement changes on the path towards the European Union, and continue to rebuild the country.
Since 2022, we have already restored tens of thousands of energy, housing, social, transport and critical infrastructure facilities.
We have surveyed and cleared more than 30,000 square kilometres of Ukrainian land.
More than 100,000 Ukrainian families have received payments and certificates under the eVidnovlennia programme.
Payments for nearly 94,000 families to compensate for damaged housing have been agreed. We have issued 18,000 certificates for the purchase of new housing to compensate for the destroyed housing.
The reconstruction continues every day and every hour.
Today, we earmark UAH 298 million to implement four reconstruction projects in Zaporizhzhia region.
These are three multi-storey residential buildings and one healthcare facility.
The relevant funding will be allocated from the Fund for Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression. In total, more than UAH 7 billion has already been disbursed from the Fund this year.
Also today, we are to approve a protocol order to allocate another UAH 598 million for reconstruction projects in the Kharkiv region.
Of these funds, UAH 240 million will be used to repair the Kharkiv Regional Hospital. Another UAH 358 million will be directed to emergency repair and overhaul of six multi-storey buildings in Kharkiv.
Rebuilding the frontline regions remains a priority.
We pay great attention to the rehabilitation of power facilities.
We continue repairs. We are launching new generation. We help people and businesses install additional capacity.
We plan to commission about 1 GW of generation in 2025. We are constantly preparing new joint projects with partners. We are working to provide the necessary resources for the reconstruction.
We do not stop working for a minute to create a mechanism for the complete confiscation of russian frozen assets.
These russian actives should become the main source of our reconstruction.
We are grateful to everyone who is working to make the aggressor pay for the crimes.
We are grateful to everyone who helps bring a just peace to Ukraine.
I am grateful to our defenders, thanks to whom Ukraine will definitely withstand and win.
Thank you for your attention.
Glory to Ukraine!
