The Government is shaping different tools to expand opportunities for Ukrainians to obtain affordable housing. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during an introductory speech at a Government meeting on August 4.
"Today we approve the conditions under which the Ukrainian Financial Housing Company will provide mortgages and financial leasing. Criteria and a list of citizens who can apply for housing have also been determined," the Head of Government said.
According to the Prime Minister, it is also planned to issue government bonds worth up to UAH 20 billion so that a much larger number of people can take advantage of mortgage programs.
Apart from that, Denys Shmyhal reminded that this year on the initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy the Government introduced the program "Affordable Mortgage at 7%". 648 families took advantage of the "Affordable Mortgage at 7%" program, the total amount of lending made up UAH 550 million.
