The draft law "On the Administrative Procedure" approved today at a Government meeting is a revolutionary step forward in the development of the administrative law and the relationship between citizens and state, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Olexandr Saienko said.

"The overriding task of this draft is guarantee and protection of rights and freedoms, the interests of citizens. How can this be done? Through introduction of a clear procedure for the actions of a public servant, public authorities in relation to citizens designed to ensure that everyone is equal before the law so that there is no arbitrariness of local authorities  and to ensure that courts can cancel or determine the legality of a decision of a public authority in case of violation of this procedure", the Minister stressed during the session.

According to Olexandr Saienko, in most European countries the said administrative procedure is encapsulated in the relevant decisions of the European Council.

"In general, this means transformations in flagship approach in the work of state authorities when we switch from the management model and to a model of protecting the rights and interests of citizens. I hope that the Parliament will support this law, " the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers stressed and also thanked the Minister of Justice of Ukraine Pavlo Petrenko and the team of the Ministry for the efficient work during elaboration of the bill.
