Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal together with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy introduced the new Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, to the staff.

"Among the principal tasks of Ihor Klymenko are trust and respect. I want our children to trust Ukrainian police officers and want to become police officers, National Guard officers, rescuers, and border guards. I want our citizens to respect the Ministry of Internal Affairs. And the Assault Guard, which is currently being formed, to become a strong element of our defense and security forces," the President of Ukraine said.

The Prime Minister noted that Ihor Klymenko is a professional General who deeply understands the processes in the Ministry.

"I am convinced that all the tasks set by the President and the Cabinet of Ministers will be accomplished efficiently and quickly. The key ones are to defend our homeland, liberate the occupied territories, protect our borders, and ensure public order within the country. We also need calm in the rear. The rear must ensure our victory," emphasized Denys Shmyhal.

Ihor Klymenko, for his part, assured that the entire staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs continued to work to fulfill the goals set.

The participants honored the memory of their fallen colleagues with a minute of silence.
