A flower-laying ceremony took place at the Memorial Complex to the Victims of Chornobyl Disaster in Kyiv with the participation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov also took part in the festive events on the occasion of the Day of Honoring the Participants of the Chornobyl Accident Consequences Elimination.

The top officials of the state placed a basket of flowers near the memorial sign to the "Warriors of Chornobyl" and the memorial mound "To the Heroes of Chornobyl".

Those present observed a minute of silence in memory of the fallen liquidators of the Chornobyl accident.
