The Government exempts from VAT equipment imported to Ukraine for the manufacture of vaccines and drugs needed for the treatment of COVID-19. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in his opening statement during a regular session of the Government on November 17.

"The decision will allow Ukrainian companies to intensify the process of creating their own production facilities, increase investment in research and development. Instead, it is an opportunity for the state to meet the domestic need for the necessary drugs and avoid dependence on the will of other countries to supply them," the Prime Minister stressed.

The Prime Minister also said that in almost all regions there is a decrease in the number of new cases of COVID-19 and the number of hospitalizations. According to him, quarantine restrictions, an increase in the number of vaccinated and the dedicated work of Ukrainian doctors played an important role in that.
