Prime Minister of Ukraine had a telephone conversation with the newly appointed Head of the Government of Moldova

Bilateral cooperation, integration into the European Union and accession to the European energy network ENTSO-E were discussed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilița during a telephone conversation on 9 August.

Denys Shmyhal congratulated Natalia Gavrilița on her appointment and wished success in the implementation of all planned reforms for the benefit of the Moldovan people. He added that Ukraine is ready to work with Moldova on the path to European integration.

"I believe that bilateral cooperation between our countries has great potential, in particular, in terms of implementation of bilateral projects. We appreciate that the development of cooperation with Ukraine is included in the program of the Government of Moldova as one of the strategic directions," said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Denys Shmyhal also stressed that cooperation in the integration of the energy systems of Ukraine and Moldova into the European energy system ENTSO-E is as successful as cooperation in ensuring gas transit.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine expressed hope for a fruitful personal meeting in Chisinau during a working visit to mark the 30th anniversary of Moldova’s independence. In particular, concerning the decision to resume the work of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, as well as other bilateral working bodies and formats, including the Dniester Commission.
