  • Prime Minister and USAID sign an agreement aimed at improving the healthcare system and providing economic growth

    The Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United States of America have inked an "Additional Agreement to the Agreement on the Implementation of the Development Objective" for a total of $9 million. The document was signed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Director of the USAID Mission to Ukraine James Hope. Chargé d'Affaires of the United States in Ukraine Kristina A. Kvien signed an affidavit.

    "People's lives and health are always a priority of the state. Thanks to this agreement, Ukraine will be able to direct additional financial resources to strengthen the capacity of the healthcare system and increase the effectiveness of treatment of diseases. I am grateful to our international partners for their consistent support and assistance towards the recovery during the pandemic," said Denys Shmyhal.

    The additional agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United States provides for:

    • $7 million to improve the health of Ukrainians.
    • $2 million to support economic growth.
