The Prime Minister of Ukraine appealed to MPs with a request to hold a second reading of the draft State Budget for 2019 and approve it in the next plenary week to ensure an effective and anticipated start of the coming year, to preserve positive trends in the economy and prolong cooperation with financial partners of Ukraine. The Head of Government said during a Government sitting at which the draft budget was agreed to be submitted for the second reading to the VR.
"It is important that the budget be approved before December 1", said Volodymyr Groysman. "Therefore, we will have access to the IMF, the EU, the World Bank resources enabling us to provide stability and service debt. All priorities have been preserved. Thus, about UAH 210 bn is allocated for financing the army, raising the salary of the security bloc. The minimum wage here will amount UAH 10 thousand. We keep funding for programs in healthcare, education, increase wages for academic staff. We will continue the program of road network construction and allocate UAH 55 billion. We will prolong decentralization process, local budgets will receive plus UAH 41 billion."
The Head of Government reminded that from January 1, military retirees would get improved pensions, from March 1 - the recalculation will be held for 12 million pensioners of other categories. Since January, the program of monetization of subsidies begins.
The Prime Minister stressed that the prepared draft budget is a well-balanced document, the budget of Ukraine's growth.
"That is why I would ask parliamentarians to consider and approve the draft budget for 2019", said Volodymyr Groysman.
