Ukrainian athletes who ranked 4th-6th places at the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo will receive a monetary reward from the state,  stressed Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. The corresponding decision was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers during a regular sitting on September 29.

25 Ukrainian Olympians and their coaches will receive a cash award. The state will pay UAH 200,000 for the 4th place, UAH 140,000 for the 5th place, and for the 6th place – UAH 100,000.

12 scholarships of the Cabinet of Ministers will be awarded to coaches who prepare the national team of Ukraine for the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022. The amount of such a scholarship will be over UAH 40,000.

"Such programs to support sports achievements are a gratitude of society to our athletes for their strength of spirit, for the lech for victory amid all circumstances and of course for the motivation for everyone to overcome the difficulties in our lives," Denys Shmyhal said.

The Government has also awarded scholarships for children with disabilities for high achievements in all-Ukrainian sports competitions.

"89 children who have demonstrated good results in various sports will receive presidential scholarships in the amount of more than UAH 5,000 per month. Scholarships will also be awarded to 43 of their coaches," the Prime Minister underscored.
