The Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal joined the solemn events on the occasion of the Day of Rescuer, which took place in the Mariinsky Palace on September 17 with the participation of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. 

During the celebrations, the President presented state awards to the personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The Head of State also rewarded the winners of the All-Ukrainian action "Hero-rescuer of 2021". Such a reward is given to remarkable individuals who showed courage and heroism during the rescue of people, property, extinguishing fires, response to accidents, emergencies, natural disasters.

"The good deeds they all do for the benefit of other people, for the country, are a daily feat. Tens of thousands of lives saved, hundreds of thousands of preserved buildings and defused explosive devices. We thank you for your courage and help. To all rescuers who are on duty at the moment, on weekends and holidays, at any time of the year, I wish to always return home alive and well," the Prime Minister congratulated the rescuers.
