In the framework of a working trip to Sumy region on September 22, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal got acquainted with the activities of Sumy Regional Clinical Hospital.
The Head of Government inspected the work of the department and the living conditions of patients, as well as talked to the medical staff. He stressed that in October, doctors as well as nurses and paramedics would receive increased salaries.
The Prime Minister noted that the Sumy Regional Clinical Hospital is the core healthcare institution in the region to provide highly specialized medical care to the population. "Up to 22,000 patients receive services here every year, so modern and comfortable conditions must be created for them. Within the framework of the President's project "Great Construction", Building B completion stage is underway, new equipment will be purchased in the near future and the list of services will be expanded," the Head of Government said.
In addition, Denys Shmyhal inspected the Hospital ER. He noted that the regional hospital is participating in the project of reconstruction of emergency departments and its area according to the design and estimate documentation should be expanded almost four times.
"In general, in Sumy region, within the framework of the "Great Construction" program, reconstruction and overhaul of emergency departments in 7 hub hospitals is planned. This is a particularly important project for the President and the Government. It is critical to accelerate its implementation. I would like to emphasize that the work and equipment in the emergency departments must be of high quality," noted the Prime Minister.
According to Denys Shmyhal, the construction of a new nine-storey surgical building for medical care of the population from all over the region and new facilities of the hospital's infrastructure is a priority for the modernization of the Sumy Regional Clinical Hospital in the coming years.
