We are working out all the options to solve problems with heating supply. It is critical to ensure the households be heated and debt-free. Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk stressed, commenting on the situation with heating provision in Novoyavorivsk and Novy Rozdil in Lviv region, where 60,000 people could be left without heating in the winter due to the irresponsibility of a private management company.
These two cities have occurred not to be prepared for the heating provision: there is no water in the pipes, no hydraulic tests were carried out in the summer, and TPP employees have not been paid for almost six months.
“The law enforcement agencies need to check what the private management company has been up to all this time. This situation will be under my control and I want to remind you that behind every failure in settling a problem stands a particular person having a name and position responsible for that problem. All these will be investigated and will be properly judged and properly punished. Police representatives are already investigating this case,” the Prime Minister noted.
The Prime Minister stressed that our first priority now is to provide households with heating and to settle the arrears to employees of the enterprise.
“For this purpose, we are initiating the transfer of the TPP to the management of NJSC Naftogaz. That will be done within two or three days,” Oleksiy Honcharuk added.
Simultaneously, specialists will be checking equipment and fixing technical problems.
People in Novoyavorivsk will receive heating in their homes within several days. The situation in Novy Rozdil is a little bit more complicated because the heating system is not ready yet.
The Head of Government has instructed to prepare the heating system for start no longer than within the five-day period. In case of temperature decrease, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine is ready to provide citizens with everything necessary.
"This is unacceptable when a dozen thousands people are left alone without heating when frost is forecast. I do not want to hear an explanation as to why something cannot be done. I want to see the result! Every day, I expect a written response from all participants in the process - what, how and by whom has done as to restoring the heating supplies to these cities?” the Prime Minister emphasized.
