The Government of Ukraine within the framework of implementation of the program of major road repairs until 2022 sets the task to reduce the volume of temporary patching and increase the proportion of major repairs that have a guarantee of quality. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during inspection of M-05 Kyiv-Odessa highway in Cherkasy region. This is one of the most perilous section of the highway. The decision has been taken to refuse from patching and immediately embark on the major road repair- dismantlement of old road surface and new asphalt laying by using modern technologies.
Commenting on the necessity for such measures, the Head of Government reminded that this year a sum 55 billion UAH was alloted for road repairs, of which a sum UAH 14.7 billion UAH was allocated for local roads.
"And we understand that patching is quick emergency measure. That is why we are gradually switching to current, medium and major repairs. And the task is to increase overhaul repairs. Time will pass, we will eradicate the tendency (concerning patching ). Road repairs with the use of road equipment are being already conducted in each region", Volodymyr Groysman stressed.
