  • Prime Minister: Exports of Ukrainian products for the first 4 months of this year grew by almost 20%

    During a regular meeting on May 26, the Government has approved the procedure for using funds for the construction of inspection posts at the border. According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, this program is aimed at improving the access of Ukrainian small and medium-sized farmers to world markets.

    The Head of Government noted that the project budget amounts to UAH 75 million. The funds, in particular, will be used to create a system of requirements for food safety and requirements of export markets.

    "This means that any Ukrainian farmer will be able to go to the relevant site and see the requirements for their products in any foreign market, where he plans to supply their goods," said Denys Shmyhal.

    The Prime Minister also noted that exports of Ukrainian products in the first 4 months of this year had grown by almost 20%, or $3 billion compared to 2020.

    "Recently, 8 new markets have been opened including in Africa and South America. The support of our exporters is paying off and it will be strengthened, in particular through the active work of the Export Credit Agency," the Head of Government stressed.

    Denys Shmyhal noted the positive dynamics of economic recovery was observed in the financial activities of medium and large companies. According to him, in the first quarter of this year, the financial results of such enterprises are one of the best for the last 5 years. The Prime Minister added that in the second quarter of this year Ukraine would achieve a steady trend of economic recovery.
