On August 2, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal chaired a meeting on privatization with Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleh Nemchinov and State Property Fund Chairman Dmytro Sennychenko.
The Fund reported that revenues from the privatization of facilities in 2020 amounted to UAH 2.25 billion. This year, auctions are planned to leverage up to UAH 12 billion to the state budget, which is a total of more than was attracted over the past 5 years.
The first large-scale privatization auction is scheduled for August 31. It is planned to leverage UAH 4-6 billion from the sale of United Mining and Chemical Company JSC.
"Last year we demonstrated a successful privatization experience. This year we have an even more ambitious objective - the privatization of large state-owned enterprises. Attracting private investment in the development of companies will help create new jobs and realize the potential in the relevant sectors of the economy. It is critical to plan the next steps in this direction," Denys Shmyhal stressed.
Following the meeting, the Prime Minister commissioned the Ministry of Economy together with the State Property Fund to prepare a list of objects for privatization for 2022-2023 within a month.
