During the 24 hours, 149 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed among children.
On the instruction of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal commissioned Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Chernyshov and acting Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet to immediately conduct inspections of schools in the regions for compliance with anti-epidemic measures.
“At least 5 educational institutions in each region should be randomly inspected. Particular attention should be paid to schools located in remote areas, as the situation in regional centers is more or less stable," Denys Shmyhal stressed following a conference call chaired by the President of Ukraine to counter COVID-19.
The Head of Government also instructed the heads of regional and district state administrations (RSAs) to take control of the situation in educational institutions.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Government may, in particular, make personnel decisions based on the results of this inspection.
Apart from that, the Head of Government called on the heads of Kharkiv and Luhansk RSAs to shortly assess the damage from the fires, so that the Government could allocate funds to help the victims at the next meeting.
"It is necessary to calculate the losses as soon as possible and prepare calculations. People affected by fires that have been left homeless should not wait for several weeks due to bureaucratic hurdles," the Head of Government stressed.
The Prime Minister gave the relevant commissions to the heads of Kharkiv and Luhansk RSAs, Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko and Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ihor Petrashko.
The situation in these areas will be considered separately at a meeting of the Commission for Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies.
