On 9 May, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola in Kyiv.
The Head of the Ukrainian Government thanked for the initiatives in support of Ukraine. In particular, for the approval of the EUR 50 billion Ukraine Facility programme and the extension of autonomous trade preferences for Ukraine.
"This will have a significant positive effect on our economy," the Prime Minister said.
The parties discussed a range of topical issues, from European integration to the confiscation of russian assets. They also touched upon the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine and the role of the EU in its implementation.
Denys Shmyhal stressed the importance of starting negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU by the end of June. He expressed hope that the European Parliament would continue to provide unwavering support to our country.
